Job Description

Support the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in their mission to provide a quality academic community in which to teach, learn, appreciate, apply, and create mathematics and statistics.

Duties include:

manage department main office; provide administrative support to department chair by handling administrative details such as related to course scheduling, registration, rosters, correspondence to constituent groups, textbook orders, advising assignments, and details of adjunct hiring; contribute to department Facebook page; and assist faculty in collecting items such as course syllabi, extra employment, and faculty schedule cards. Additional duty to will be to utilize student applicant tracking system to assist math majors to research campus job and internship possibilities.

Additional assignments to support the mission of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics as assigned by the department chair.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated working knowledge of general office practices and procedures as well as of various computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people. Experience providing administrative or programmatic support in a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of university software, including Chrome River, Page Up, eVA, Banner, and Cognos. Knowledge of University policies and procedures a plus. Experience in higher education.
