Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Construction Manager position in Radford, VA
.
The Junior Construction Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial construction projects under the guidance of senior project leadership. This role assists with project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, field operations, and client communication while gaining hands‑on experience managing projects in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing industrial construction projects through pre-construction, construction, and project closeout phases.
- Support development and tracking of project budgets, schedules, and procurement activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure work progresses according to project plans and timelines.
- Monitor daily field activities to help maintain productivity, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, engineers, and company leadership.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to support project execution and resolve field issues.
- Assist with subcontractor management, including tracking deliverables, schedules, and scope compliance.
- Help identify project risks and communicate issues to senior management for resolution.
- Support project documentation, punch list completion, commissioning activities, and turnover packages.
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, and correspondence using construction management software.
- 3-5 years of construction management or related industrial construction experience.
- Basic understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and construction coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Familiarity with industrial construction environments such as manufacturing, utilities, energy, or heavy industrial facilities preferred.
