Job Description
The Department of Anthropological Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for a 9-month teaching faculty position starting in August 2026. The position is temporary full-time, non-tenure-track, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years.
We are seeking applicants with holistic training in the field of anthropology, with expertise in biological and forensic anthropology in particular. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach the following classes:
Introduction to Forensic Anthropology, Advanced Forensic Anthropology (with lab), Principles of Biological Anthropology (with lab), and Human Osteology (with lab). The successful candidate will also be expected to teach at least one of the following general education classes:
Anthropology of the Human Past (an introduction to biological and archaeological anthropology), and Introduction to Cultural Anthropology.
The Department Anthropological Sciences at Radford University offers coursework and undergraduate degrees in all areas of anthropology, with particular emphasis in archaeology and biological anthropology. With about 50 undergraduate majors, we pride ourselves on a curriculum that gives students hands-on experiential learning and preparation for diverse range of career paths.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in anthropology with demonstrated expertise in biological and forensic anthropology
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in anthropology with expertise in biological and forensic anthropology.
Demonstrated success in teaching at the undergraduate level.
Demonstrated success in supervising course-based and/or independent undergraduate research.
