Academic, University Professor, Special Needs / Learning Disabilities, Special Education Teacher
This is a full-time, one year, non-tenure track position in special education. The successful applicant will teach courses in special education, supervise pre-service teacher candidates, and engage in service to the Special Education Program Area, the School of Teacher Education and Leadership, and the College.
Required QualificationsA master’s degree in special education or related field; substantial experience working with K-12 students with disabilities and educators in an academic setting; interest in and expertise to teach courses in special education with particular emphasis in one or more of the following areas: legal aspects, characteristics of students with disabilities, collaboration and co‑teaching, assessment, and specially designed instruction.
Preferred QualificationsDoctorate in field; experience providing professional development to educators or teaching at the college level; experience providing clinical supervision to pre-service or in-service teachers; knowledge of contemporary instructional technologies, including online course delivery technologies. Experience and expertise in teaching tier III math, reading and/or writing in the inclusive setting.
