Join Thompson & Litton in our Radford office for a hands‑on internship that puts you at the center of land development and infrastructure design. This isn't just a role for 'assisting'—it's an opportunity to learn the intricacies of site development, stormwater management, and utility design while working directly alongside licensed Professional Engineers (PEs).

As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will be an integral part of our design team, supporting both public and private sector projects that shape the Southwest Virginia landscape. You will:

• Design & Draft: Support the development of conceptual site layouts and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  .
• Solve Problems: Assist with grading design, earthwork analyses, and complex stormwater management systems.
• Navigate Regulations: Research municipal zoning and development ordinances to ensure project compliance.
• Get in the Field: Participate in site visits and field investigations to see how plans translate to reality.
• Build the Foundation: Help prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and project proposals.

• Current Pursuit: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil Engineering

• Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to help translate technical data into clear reports.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

• Experience or interest in AutoCAD or Civil 3D

• Coursework emphasis in land development, water resources, or transportation.
