Aftermarket Electronic Drives Customer Service Technician III

Summary

Aftermarket Technician has a working knowledge of electronic product lines and will inspect aftermarket or returned electronic drives.

• Complete first level analysis and tear-down inspections on returned electronic drives, meeting the customer’s required timeline.
• Repair or refurbish electronic drives if required.
• Troubleshoot and determine root cause/corrective action (RCCA).
• Work with QE and ME to implement desired corrective/preventive actions.
• Perform functions in Oracle – look up BOM.
• Perform functions in Matrix – enter RMA data and analysis.
• Correlate data, update daily and weekly RMA metrics.
• Position may require field service travel for up to one-week per visit.
• Apply knowledge from field returns to post pack audit process.

• Two-year degree.
• Basic understanding and usage of mechanical gauging equipment and electrical test equipment.
• Ability to read and work to blueprints and work instructions.
• Minimum two years’ experience in related field.
• Strong technical background to troubleshoot systems, machinery, test equipment.
• Use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the failure mode of the product.
• Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and computer skills; able to communicate with a customer verbally and in writing.
• Self-directed and able to work well in a team environment.

Requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Noise level is usually moderate.
