Job DescriptionThe simulation technician assists with clinical simulation and provides technical support of the Clinical Simulation Center in the College of Nursing. Position requires broad knowledge of healthcare simulation, audiovisual, and computer technologies to maximize student learning and faculty ability to provide state-of-the-art simulation learning experiences. Responsible for the set-up, operation, schedule coordination, and maintenance of the simulation environment. Perform maintenance and quality assurance testing of equipment.
Assist CSC faculty and staff in troubleshooting computer and simulation equipment problems. Maintain inventory of disposable supplies.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with vendors and quickly resolve technical problems with audio, video, computer, and simulator equipment. Demonstrate understanding of basic networking components. Ability to learn to program patient simulators using a vendor supplies software program. Self-directed and able to work autonomously as well as collaborate with a team. Demonstrates ability to analyze, prioritize, and solve predictable and unpredictable problems.
Ability to effectively communicate and instruct faculty and staff in troubleshooting technical problems. The ideal candidate possesses training in a health-related field along with knowledge of computer technologies.
Simulation experience preferred. Healthcare experience preferred. Healthcare simulation operations specialist certification (CHSOS) preferred.
