Cloud Engineer Senior

Responsibilities

• Support the ALTESS commercial cloud services infrastructure in both public and private cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure).
• Implement, manage, and maintain secure cloud‑based solutions for Army and DoD IT systems.
• Migrate on‑premises applications to cloud infrastructure while ensuring security and compliance.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using modern Dev Ops and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools.
• Develop and manage secure transport technologies, including IPSEC/VPN and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Integrate and configure tools supporting CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Travis CI, and AWS Code Deploy.
• Apply automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, and scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, Bash).
• Monitor and enforce compliance with DoD STIGs, IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM), and cybersecurity best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on large‑scale cloud projects and infrastructure improvements.
• Maintain documentation, change control procedures, and version control through tools like Git.

• Proven experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical fields.
• Demonstrated mid to senior‑level experience as a Cloud Engineer.
• Strong background in managing and delivering multiple large‑scale IT or cloud infrastructure projects.
• Hands‑on experience migrating on‑premises applications to cloud environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, including computing environment configurations.
• Extensive knowledge of secure transport technologies including IPSEC, VPNs, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Skilled in automating routine administrative and operational tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Python, Power Shell, Bash, Puppet, and Chef.
• Experience with version control and collaboration platforms such as Git.
• Understanding of core IT components including networking, storage systems, server infrastructure, and application architectures.
• Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, and AWS Code Deploy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly across diverse teams.
• Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments, including the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civil agencies, and military organizations.

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification – COMPTIA Security+ CE, Cisco CCNA, COMPTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), GIAC GICSP, GAIC GSEC, Certified Network Defender (CND), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
• Cloud Computing Environment Certification.

• Secret – IT‑II Non‑Critical Sensitive Clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation.

• Senior‑level experience in networking or equivalent technical domain.
