Position DescriptionSr. Storage Administrator to support the Army PL ALTESS contract. ALTESS provides IT services and support to the Army and Department of Defense, delivering infrastructure, platform, and application services across data centers and commercial clouds. ALTESS modernizes IT systems by migrating to the cloud and managing mission-critical applications to ensure Army readiness. ALTESS oversees IT service delivery across hosting locations, aligning with DoD digital transformation strategies as part of PEO Enterprise.
This position is located in Radford, VA.
- Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers and storage systems for ALTESS and its customers in a mixed storage environment.
- Assist with implementing new hardware and software; contribute to developing local operating procedures and policies as needed.
- Monitor ongoing system operation and generate utilization reports using existing tools to identify problems and implement corrective actions.
- Recommend, demonstrate, and implement technologies to expand, upgrade, and increase efficiencies in the current environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities This position is for a Senior Storage Administrator for a mixed and growing environment of various storage hardware. This role requires collaboration with the OS and Storage teams to manage enterprise storage and related systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role- CompTIA Security+.
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+, CCNA, Red Hat, Palo, etc.) – can be waived for 30 days after project join date.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience in Computer Science or IT.
- Three or more years' experience in design, installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems.
- Three or more years' experience maintaining storage and network policies and standards.
- Three or more years' experience refreshing data between environments at the request of the application development staff.
- Three or more years' experience creating and following Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and problem resolution.
- Three or more years' experience with MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments.
- Three or more years' experience administering applicable storage networks.
- Three or more years' experience with VMware 7.x or greater.
- Three or more years' experience with IP-based network communications.
- Installation and configuration experience of backup software with Windows Server 2019, Solaris 11, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and higher.
- Experience with Windows Power Shell and Bash scripting.
- Strong CLI skills and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience.
- Three or more years' experience supporting Cybersecurity patch management and STIG/SRG/RMF/SCA-V/CORA.
