Metrology & CMM Technician

Kilian Manufacturing, part of Regal Rexnord's Industrial Powertrain Solutions segment, is seeking a skilled Metrology & CMM Technician to join our Syracuse, New York facility.
This role is responsible for maintaining the company's calibration system, supporting metrology activities, operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and ensuring dimensional conformance of manufactured components. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to product quality, process improvement, and compliance with quality system requirements.
What You'll Do- Administer and maintain the facility calibration program.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance of inspection equipment.
- Coordinate internal and external calibration services.
- Manage inventory and status tracking of precision measuring equipment.
- Perform dimensional inspections using:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Indicators
- Height Gages
- Pin Gages
- Thread Gages
- Optical Comparators
- CMM Equipment
- Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Review inspection reports and verify product conformance.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Support MSA studies and Gage R&R activities.
- Participate in corrective action investigations and continuous improvement projects.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
What You'll Bring Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, calibration, metrology, inspection, or related technical environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using precision measurement equipment.
- Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Experience programming or operating CMM equipment.
- Experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, MODUS, or similar software.
- Knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5).
- Experience with SPC, MSA, and Gage R&R.
- Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
