Job Title

Senior Python Cloud Software Engineer, Revvity Signals Scientific Workflows

Overview

We are seeking Senior Python Cloud Software Engineers to design, build, support, and operate secure, scalable, cloud-native services and developer platforms. This role requires strong experience with Python
, AWS
, PaaS/SaaS architectures
, and execution of Revvity Signals Vitro Vivo or similar scientific workflows
. Resources will support end-to-end solution delivery, platform engineering, automation, and the practical application of Generative AI and Agent-based AI within engineering and product workflows. Supplier will facilitate and cover all required Knowledge Transition
.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native Python services and microservices with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.

  • Design and operate PaaS/SaaS platforms
    , including multi-tenant architectures, tenant isolation, API gateways, service meshes, and observability.

  • Execute and support Revvity Signals Vitro Vivo workflows or similar scientific and laboratory workflows.

  • Define and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and or AWS Cloud Formation for secure, repeatable provisioning.

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, quality gates, deployments, and rollback strategies.

  • Lead containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or ECS), including scaling, RBAC, ingress, and network policies.

  • Implement automation across build, test, deploy, and operations using scripting, pipelines, runbooks, and Chat Ops.

  • Design and develop REST and Graph

    QL APIs

    , create Postman collections
    , and automate testing with Newman in CI/CD.

  • Apply modern engineering practices including domain-driven design, clean architecture, SOLID principles, and twelve-factor apps
    .

  • Design and validate AWS disaster recovery strategies
    , including RPO and RTO, backups, multi-AZ and multi-region deployments, and failover testing.

  • Establish observability using Cloud Watch, Open Telemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana, with alerting and SLOs.

  • Explore and integrate Generative AI and Agent-based AI for developer productivity, test generation, workflow automation, and product features, ensuring responsible AI usage.

  • Enforce SDLC best practices including design reviews, code reviews, secure coding, testing strategies, and release management.

  • Collaborate with product, security, data, and platform teams, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives.

  • Conduct performance, resilience, and security assessments, and drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • Senior-level experience as a Python Cloud Software Engineer
    .

  • Proven experience with Revvity Signals Vitro Vivo or comparable scientific workflow platforms.

  • Strong experience designing and operating PaaS/SaaS solutions
    , including multi-tenancy and API management.

  • Hands‑on expertise with AWS
    , Terraform or Cloud Formation
    , and secrets management.

  • Advanced experience with Kubernetes
    , including deployments, autoscaling, resource quotas, and cluster security.

  • Strong CI/CD, API development, and automated testing experience.
