Senior Technician, Operations – Pharmaceutical Operations and Clinical Supply (1st shift, 07:30AM‑4:00PM).
Location:
Rahway, NJ, 100% on‑site.
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and adjustments for process and production equipment to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable manufacturing operations in a cGMP‑regulated environment.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, EHS, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and maximize reliability of manufacturing operations.
- Operate and maintain large, complex isolators, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Set up, change over, and perform test runs on equipment for various container sizes, stopper, and caps.
- Perform mechanical and electrical adjustments necessary for correct equipment operation.
- Conduct routine microbiological and particulate sampling for environmental monitoring.
- Operate dispensing, robotic positioning, and manual placement using remote pendant interfaces.
- Operate PLC interfaces, multi‑screen HMIs, vision systems, and automation‑heavy environments.
- Perform aseptic filling operations in compliance with GMP and SOP, including interventions within a Grade A isolator and gowning in Grade C conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, findings, and documentation in electronic systems (preferred PAS‑X).
- Assist in training new staff on sterile supply procedures and ensure adherence to GMP standards.
- Identify and report recurring issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and capture lessons learned to improve systems and processes.
- Attend and participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support investigations and the implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Overtime may be required for manufacturing support processes.
- High School Diploma/GED or higher; or completion of an associate degree in Applied Science (A.A.S.) or an equivalent program.
- Preferred: trade certificate, technical diploma, or associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a technician in a manufacturing, military, automotive, aviation, or industrial facility, including setup, changeover, assembly, disassembly, and modification of high‑speed equipment.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing (pharmaceutical/biotech) under cGMP is strongly preferred.
- Experience with isolators, containment technology, aseptic filling, sterile manufacturing, visual inspection, SAP or other ERP systems, MES, and automation systems.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), SAP, HMI, and calibration/maintenance database systems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, twisting, climbing ladders, and wearing cleanroom protective gear.
- Willingness to work overtime, including shutdowns or emergency repairs.
- Salary range: $68,000 – $107,000, based on education, qualifications, experience, certifications, and business needs.
- Eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
