Job Description & How to Apply Below
Overview
This is a senior, non‑entry level predictive maintenance role. You will serve as the technical authority on vibration analysis and infrared thermography for a regulated life sciences facility in Rahway, NJ, diagnosing complex failure modes on critical rotating equipment and driving proactive reliability strategies. This position requires independent expertise from day one.
Responsibilities- Act as the technical authority for vibration analysis and infrared thermography across rotating equipment, diagnosing complex failure modes and driving proactive reliability plans.
- Perform infrared thermographic inspections across electrical, mechanical, and process systems. Apply real‑world IR experience if formal certification is not held.
- Apply advanced vibration techniques (FFT, waveform analysis, phase analysis, resonance diagnostics) to identify bearing failures, misalignment, imbalance, and electrical faults with accuracy and speed.
- Lead root cause failure analysis and implement failure elimination strategies. Translate diagnostic findings into actionable engineering recommendations and partner with cross‑functional teams on capital projects and equipment upgrades.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to long‑term reliability strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work within CMMS systems and predictive maintenance software daily; ensure documentation rigor and regulatory compliance.
- Influence asset performance and uptime in a mission‑critical, regulated environment through hands‑on leadership and technical excellence.
- ISO Vibration Analysis certification at Category I, II, III, or IV required before applying. Category III or IV certification strongly preferred for immediate ownership of advanced diagnostics.
- If holding Category I or II only, provide 10–15 years of deep, hands‑on predictive maintenance and vibration analysis experience; recently certified analysts without depth will not be considered.
- Category III or IV certification is strongly preferred because you will own advanced diagnostics with minimal supervision.
- Infrared thermography experience is required or, at minimum, equivalent real‑world IR experience. Certification is preferred but not mandatory if hands‑on experience is demonstrated.
- Fluency in advanced vibration techniques (FFT, waveform, phase, resonance) and the ability to diagnose bearing failures, misalignment, imbalance, and electrical faults.
- 5–10+ years of reliability engineering or rotating equipment analysis experience, ideally in pharma, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries with documentation rigor and compliance.
- Proficiency with CMMS and predictive maintenance software; strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, mentor others, and contribute to long‑term reliability strategy in a regulated environment.
Senior technical leadership in a mission‑critical facility with opportunity to influence asset performance and uptime; competitive compensation and growth within a regulated life sciences setting.
