Job OverviewFounded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute care community hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. RWJ Rahway's emergency department cares for more than 32,000 patients per year. The hospital is a Primary Stroke Center with telemedicine capability for 24/7 coverage. The campus is home to Care Connection, a 24-bed licensed subacute rehab unit owned by Alaris Health, and Kindred Hospital New Jersey Rahway, a 34-bed long-term acute care hospital for medically complex patients who need intense specialized treatment for an extended period of time.
The hospital provides extensive therapeutic services including physical, occupational, speech and hearing. For those with heart and lung disease, the hospital has cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
- BSN preferred
- Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school preferred
- Additional experience required based upon specific department needs
- Current NJ RN Licensure required
- Current American Heart Association CPR/BLS required
- Current American Heart Association ACLS/PALS required
- National certification preferred
- Per Diem
- Day Shift
- Hours will be 6:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 5:30pm with some flexibility.
- The Registered Nurse RN provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- The RN assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for his/her own professional advancement.
- Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Responsible for knowledge of the patient population served.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with nurses and other patient care providers.
- The RN is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team member integrating safety, quality and the experience of care while individualizing the plan of care to address a specific patient's needs when providing care.
- The RN is required to actively participate in performance improvement activities.
- Other essential duties as required.
