Position Summary:

Rutgers Correctional Health Care is seeking a part‑time Licensed Practical Nurse for East Jersey State Prison, located in Rahway, NJ.

• Provide input to Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care by communicating information pertinent to the patient’s status.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
• Document all aspects of patient care.
• Inform and instruct patients on their health and illness state and plan of care.
• Participate in data collection related to the patients’ status and needs.
• Assist patient or significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance in the home.
• Be knowledgeable of and initiate emergency procedures.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Administer medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established policies.

Education and Experience:

Not specified.

• Possession of a valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License required; must possess personal vehicle or alternative means of transportation between sites.
• Preferred:
  At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting.

Grade 215. Minimum Salary: $33,510. Mid range: $34,010. Maximum: $35,030. Final offer may be based on qualifications, experience, and available funding.

Part‑time, 20 hours per week, evening shift. Full onsite work arrangement.

Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.
