Position SummaryLicensed Practical Nurse Per Diem (multiple vacancies) in East Jersey State Prison, Rahway, NJ. The role administers patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs treatments within established guidelines, and collaborates with health professionals and security staff in a correctional environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and record patient data related to status and needs.
- Provide information to the Registered Nurse for care planning.
- Perform direct patient care within scope of practice to implement the plan of care.
- Educate patients and significant others about health status and care plan.
- Assist patients and families in discharge preparation and home health maintenance.
- Document all aspects of patient care.
Minimum:
- Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Jersey.
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation between sites.
Preferred:
- At least six months of experience in an acute hospital setting.
Salary: $29.00 per hour (subject to qualification, experience, and funding). Comprehensive benefits include:

Must be able to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes and physically lift/rotate patients up to 50 pounds.
