Senior Scientist – Analytical Development
Join Our Company’s Rahway Animal Health Team. Our Company's Global Animal Health Research & Development (R&D) division is a pioneer in the discovery, development and registration of medicines, products, and therapeutics for animals.
Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Scientist – Analytical Development plays a key role in our company’s animal health research and development by supporting the analytical development of high‑priority drug candidates and executing studies to characterize key physical and chemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, and formulated drug products (e.g., tablets, solutions, implants).
Key Responsibilities- Working in a team environment on multiple concurrent projects and experiments of moderate complexity.
- Maintaining high‑quality documentation, independently analyzing and interpreting data, and preparing technical reports and external publications (as appropriate).
- Developing, characterizing, and applying new analytical methods to generate data that guide product development and secure successful commercialization of new veterinary medicinal products.
- Using non‑routine approaches to solve challenging technical problems related to purity, stability, packaging, and manufacturing.
- Applying separation techniques such as HPLC, GC, TLC, in‑vitro dissolution, general/wet chemical methods, physical characterizations (particle size analysis, SEM, light microscopy), spectroscopy (UV/Vis, FTIR), and thermal methods (DSC, TGA).
- Education:
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or other scientific discipline. - Minimum 3years of previous pharmaceutical experience with a master’s or Ph.D. background.
- Demonstrated good laboratory skills and a solid understanding of analytical and physical chemistry.
- Ability to work independently under general laboratory supervision and to help develop junior staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Personal drive for results and a demonstrated history of achievement in pharmaceutical research & development.
- Experience authoring technical documents.
