Job Summary
Scientist, Biologics – Large Molecule Analytical. This laboratory-based scientific role is tasked with solving complex analytical problems at the interface of biology, chemistry, and lab informatics to enable development of Biologics drug substances and drug products. The position is located in Rahway, New Jersey.
Responsibilities- Develop, qualify, implement, troubleshoot, and transfer analytical methods for monoclonal proteins or other complex therapeutic proteins.
- Execute routine experiments, data interpretation, and ensure proper technical guidance.
- Operate and troubleshoot analytical methods, including UPLC/HPLC (SEC, RP, IEX), CE, PCR, DNA extraction, immunoassay (ELISA, gel electrophoresis).
- Manage project timelines, prioritize and execute deliverables with appropriate supervision.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional team environments, author and review internal technical reports, regulatory filings (IND, BLA) and external scientific publications.
- Contribute to scientific leadership and publishing efforts.
- BA/BS in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, OR M.S. with a minimum of 0+ years relevant experience.
- Prior laboratory environment experience and ability to apply scientific concepts.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration experience in academic or industrial settings.
- Adaptability, multitasking, oral/written communication.
- Experience with analytical method development and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of protein structure, degradation pathways, and critical quality attributes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, research applications (RLIMS, ELN, Empower).
- Experience in data analytics, programming or laboratory automation.
- Background in various Biologic modalities (mAb, antibody‑drug conjugate, fusion protein).
- Knowledge of Analytical Methodologies, QbD/DOE principles.
- Experience with LIMS, GMP, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, mammalian cell culture, qPCR.
- Previous experience in a project team setting.
- Experience authoring and reviewing regulatory filings and scientific publications.
Salary range: $87,300.00 – $. Eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement (401(k)), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
