We are seeking a motivated scientist/engineer to join the Biologics Downstream Operations team within Bio Process Research and Development (BPRD). The successful candidate will support downstream pilot plant activities, including fed‑batch and continuous processing operations, identify operational improvements, respond to non‑standard requests, and implement new technology while updating laboratory procedure documents.
Responsibilities- Support large‑scale purification operations.
- Facilitate knowledge transfers between development and operations teams.
- Document batches within an electronic laboratory system.
- Participate in scheduling discussions within the operations team.
- Collaborate with development colleagues on the implementation of novel technologies and process analytical tools.
- Work collaboratively with pilot plant operations, upstream, and solution prep teams.
- Collaborate with process development scientists across BPR&D.
- Support safety and training initiatives.
BS in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry with at least 1 year of related experience.
Required Experience and Skills- Strong laboratory experimentation and documentation skills, including drafting clear operating procedures.
- Hands‑on experience with large‑scale purification operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
- Experience leading small projects or sub‑teams, including vendor interactions.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Independent execution of experiments.
- Familiarity with protein purification techniques (chromatography, NFF & TFF filtration).
- Experience with Akta Bioprocess Skid, BioSMB, and Akta Ready/Flux systems.
- Ability to work with lab automation teams on improvement projects.
- Salary range: $71,900.00 – $.
