Biocatalysis Molecular Biology Contractor

Education and experience:

A bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, a master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a related discipline.

Required Skills:

Hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, including DNA cloning, DNA purification, PCR, primer design, mutagenesis, DNA sequencing and analysis, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, and culture. Ability to independently plan and execute molecular cloning workflows with limited oversight. Experience with DNA sequencing technologies, including Sanger sequencing, and sequencing data analysis. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple experiments, maintain accurate experimental reports, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a consistent record of maintaining complete documentation. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities include plasmid mini preps, wet lab molecular biology work, DNA sequencing submission/analysis, communication with project teams, and limited lab stock/order management. Required experience should center on molecular biology, cloning, PCR, following vendor kit protocols, wet lab skills, organization, prioritization, and strong communication.
