Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist for an Onsite position with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in Rahway, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This is an onsite, lab-based role supporting analytical testing and chromatography data collection for small molecule and peptide development. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening methods, optimization, and working with liquid chromatography systems. This position requires strong data handling practices and comfort working in GMP/GLP environments.
Responsibilities:
- Support analytical testing and chromatography data collection on samples from small molecule & peptide development/characterization
- Analyze analytical samples
- Process and document results by following appropriate methods, protocols, and procedures
- Manage samples and data following best practices
- Follow all appropriate laboratory safety and hygiene procedures
Requirements:
- BS with 3+ years or MS with 1+ year of relevant experience in analytical chemistry or a small molecule testing lab
- Must have separations experience for small molecules/peptides
- Experience analyzing small molecule formulation development samples using at least one of the following techniques:
- Liquid Chromatography (HPLC / UPLC) such as Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEX, AEX, CEX), Reverse Phase (RP), or Hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC)
- Spectroscopic techniques (UV, Mass Spectrometry)
- Strong data handling practices and comfort working in GMP/GLP environments
Desired skills:
- General knowledge of analytical chemistry
- Experience making accurate reagent preparations (dilutions / solutions / buffers / mobile phases)
- Good documentation practice & utilization in electronic lab notebooks (ELN)
- Experience with analytical software including Empower, Open Lab and/or Chemstation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note, Teams, etc.)
- Knowledge of ACD Labs tools such as LC-SIM, Autochrome, or any computer coding language is a plus
- Pharma experience
Pay range: up to $32.14 per hour
