Summarize in 2 to 4 sentences the primary function and value of the position. Under direct supervision, the Material Handler 1 operates forklifts or other mobile equipment to perform routine moving, staging, loading or unloading of materials, supplies or products within or near plant, yard, warehouse or work site.

In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies, and contributing to the company’s Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment, the following briefly describes the 3 to 6 primary activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed, and the approximate percentage of time annually devoted to each (equals 100%).

• Percent Transports raw materials, supplies, products and/or finished goods to and from storage or production lines and places them in designated area

• Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities

• Completes all necessary paperwork and transactions, including scanning requirements 5%
• Perform housekeeping,5‑S, and other duties as assigned 5%

• Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined in the role specific Job Safety Analysis
• Forklift, Combi‑lift, Side-loader, or other mobile equipment

• Minimum:
  High School diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT Work Keys Assessment at certified job profile skill level
• Preferred: 3+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing or shipping environment Mobile equipment certification Skills & Competencies

• Basic computer skills
• Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands
• Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands
