PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies, and contributing to the company’s Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment, the following briefly describes the 3 to 6 primary activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed, and the approximate percentage of time annually devoted to each (equals 100%).
- Percent Performs preventive maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other predictive maintenance actions. 20%
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. 15%
- Repairs machines, equipment, or building systems, using equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. 15%
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. 10%
- Repairs machines, equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools or power tools. 10%
- Provides support of die maintenance and troubleshooting roll forming equipment 10%
- Installs, programs, and repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers. 5%
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures and tools. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment. 5%
- Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities 5%
- Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned 5%

- Productivity – 90%
- Work order tracking
- Timely maintenance of equipment to avoid Quality Claims
- Timely maintenance of equipment to ensure On Time Delivery
- Maintain equipment to help reduce Scrap/improve Yield
- Reduce equipment downtime and manage financial impact of repair to improve Conversion Costs
- Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined in the role specific Job Safety Analysis
- Maintenance toolbox (see MST program requirements)
- DRW/Drawings/Blueprints/Tablet Computerized Maintenance Management Software
- Measuring tools
- Welding equipment
- Machining equipment
- Fabricating equipment
Minimum:
High School diploma or equivalent Attain ACT Work Keys Assessment at certified job profile skill level 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance; or a combination of technical school degree, craft certification, or completion of maintenance skills/craft courses and experience in industrial maintenance
Preferred:
Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Technical school degree 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist and/or related fields Working knowledge of drawing software such as AutoCAD Proficient in reading blueprints, designing and fabricating parts Experience in the diagnostics and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or robotics
