Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations within the machinery and worktools industry. The ideal candidate will excel in managing inventory-related accounting tasks while ensuring accuracy and compliance in daily financial processes.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct inventory tie-out reviews and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.

- Post and reconcile daily sales transactions efficiently and in a timely manner.

- Prepare and analyze journal entries for the general ledger.

- Manage corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

- Oversee sales tax calculations and submissions with precision.

- Maintain and update asset inventory records to support financial accuracy.

- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.

- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax management.

- Solid understanding of corporate tax return preparation processes.

- Proficiency in handling journal entries and general ledger tasks.

- Demonstrated expertise in inventory accounting and reconciliation.

- Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.

- Familiarity with asset inventory management practices.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
