We're seeking a Director of Accounting to serve as a strategic and hands=on leader responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone who enjoys staying close to the work, leading through expertise rather than direct people management, and partnering cross-functionally to strengthen financial processes and controls.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee and execute key accounting activities across GL, AP, AR, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and revenue recognition
- Manage daily cash flow management, borrowing, and treasury-related activities
- Prepare and analyze timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner closely with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and other teams to support business initiatives
- Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and system enhancements impacting accounting workflows
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare white papers and documentation as needed
- Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Industry experience in pharmaceuticals or life sciences is a plus
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks (SOX, COSO)
- Experience working within ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite) and advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
