Inventory GL Accountant; GAAP & Costing

Job Description

• Own inventory-related general ledger accounts, including raw materials, WIP, finished goods, reserves, and cost of goods sold
• Prepare and review monthly inventory journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and cost accounting teams to investigate inventory variances and resolve discrepancies
• Support inventory costing processes, including standard cost updates, overhead absorption, and cycle count adjustments
• Ensure inventory accounting complies with GAAP and internal controls, including documentation and audit support
• Analyze inventory trends and metrics (turns, obsolescence, shrinkage) and provide insights to management
• Assist with month-end close, physical inventory counts, and continuous improvement of inventory accounting processes
