Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare detailed financial reports for a diverse client portfolio. You will be working with a dedicated team that provides accounting services to over 100 companies, specializing in those with government grant funding.

Responsibilities:

- Record monthly financial transactions for clients using Quick Books.

- Collaborate with senior accounting staff to gather necessary documentation from clients.

- Identify and document missing financial materials, ensuring clear communication with the senior team.

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently.

- Complete journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.

- Perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements.

- Organize and file supporting financial documentation for compliance purposes.

- Handle payroll processing and ensure timely submission.

- Prepare and distribute 1099 forms in accordance with regulations.

- Generate financial reports using data from Quick Books to support client needs. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.

- 0-2 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles.

- Proficiency in Quick Books and familiarity with general ledger operations.

- Knowledge of corporate and sales tax, including tax return preparation.

- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing deadlines.

- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
