Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Overview

We're seeking a Senior Accountant focused on financial reporting. This role ensures accurate, compliant reporting within insurance‑related regulatory frameworks. You'll prepare and review financial reports, support audits, and maintain strong internal controls to ensure reporting integrity.

• Prepare and file financial statements in compliance with GAAP, NAIC standards, and state insurance regulations.
• Reconcile financial statements with internal reports.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations with accurate supporting documentation.
• Monitor regulatory and accounting standard changes and implement required updates.
• Partner with external auditors during year‑end audits and regulatory exams; address findings and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with internal auditors throughout the year.
• Assist with statutory filings, including annual statements, RBC reports, and other insurance regulatory submissions.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and process improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical accounting support to cross‑functional teams.

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and critical software tools
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, valuing team input
• High attention to detail and accuracy
