ASC 606 | CPA Required | SaaS Industry Experience | Hybrid - Raleigh, NC
We are working with a local start-up technology company in the Triangle who is in search of a Senior Revenue Accountant to support their team. This individual will manage and execute all revenue recognition and accounting activities, perform critical contract reviews, and collaborate with the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting to advise internal business partners on complex revenue arrangements. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance by developing a strong understanding of the company's products and order-to-cash cycle.
- Prepare monthly revenue recognition journal entries and perform reconciliations for accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, and deferred revenue.
- Review customer contracts, sales orders, and invoices to ensure proper revenue treatment, including arrangements with multiple performance obligations, in compliance with ASC 606.
- Analyze monthly revenue and cost of revenue performance and communicate results through financial summaries and close presentations.
- Maintain detailed work papers and supporting schedules to ensure audit and due diligence readiness.
- Document and refine revenue recognition policies and contribute to process improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Billing, and other stakeholders to align on revenue metrics, KPIs, collections analysis, and A/R allowance calculations.
- Support broader accounting initiatives and cross-functional special projects as needed.
- 4-6 years of experience in general ledger accounting, public accounting, or revenue accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA is required.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue accounting practices.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
