Accounting Manager
The Senior Accountant will join a growing team that currently provides accounting and compliance services to 200+ early-stage companies. A successful Senior Accountant will collaborate with clients and team members to provide excellent accounting and compliance services that add value. The position reports to a Senior Accounting Manager and oversees the work of Staff Accountants.
This is a full-time, on-site position requiring attendance in our Raleigh, NC office five days per week. No relocation assistance is available.
SpecificJob Duties
- Manage a portfolio of Accounting and Compliance engagements.
- Provide expertise in both GAAP accounting and grant accounting standards.
- Provide full-service accounting support for small and medium-sized businesses.
- Review journal entries and financial reports prepared by Staff Accountants.
- Prepare depreciation schedules, accrued revenue, journal entries, and other schedules.
- Ensure client’s internal controls are implemented correctly and operating as intended.
- Provide monthly financial reports and analysis to clients.
- Support Clients’ government grant accounting reporting needs.
- Lead new clients through the process of establishing a grant accounting compliant chart of accounts and an internal control framework that are in compliance with federal granting agency regulations.
- Guide clients through the process to draw funds from awarding agencies.
Li> - Guide clients in the preparation of their Accounting Policies & Procedures Manuals.
- Support clients through financial statement and regulatory audits.
- Contribute to the development of internal EGC policies and procedures.
- Contribute to educational resources and professional development opportunities to facilitate continual professional growth within the EGC Accounting team.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of the steps in the monthly accounting cycle.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Able to convey complex accounting and grant compliance concepts clearly and concisely to clients without an accounting background.
- A focus on excellent client service.
- Adaptable to changing priorities.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) [Preferred]
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting
- Experience in a client-facing accounting role
