Accounting Manager

Robert Half has partnered with a fast growing company in the hospitality sector to assist them in hiring an Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in accounting or finance and prior supervisory experience. Net Suite is also a plus. The Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting activities and help maintain dependable, timely financial reporting for the organization.

This role is well suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who brings strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment. This position will also contribute to stronger controls, smoother processes, and clear financial insight for leadership. This is a permanant onsite position in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee general ledger activity by reviewing transactions, balances, and reconciliations to confirm accuracy.

- Prepare journal entries while supporting monthly close activities to keep reporting on schedule.

- Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking acquisitions, retirements, transfers, and depreciation records.

- Investigate account variances and other discrepancies, document findings, and make corrections.

- Contribute to month-end and year-end close deliverables to help ensure reporting deadlines are consistently met.

- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, supporting schedules, and recurring management reports.

- Analyze financial information to highlight trends, identify potential issues, and support operational improvement opportunities.

- Supervise a small accounting team by coordinating workload, assigning tasks, and offering guidance.

- Field all external audit requests, assist with tax-related documentation, and participate in accounting process improvement efforts.

Requirements - 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within multi-unit organizations such as hospitality, retail, or similar operating environments.

- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close procedures, and financial reporting practices.

- Experience preparing account reconciliations, posting journal entries, and maintaining fixed asset records.

- Familiarity with financial statement audits, compliance support, and documentation required for audit readiness.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Net Suite.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research discrepancies and resolve issues with careful attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to present financial information in a clear, practical manner.

- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and support the development of team members.
