Job Title
Accounting Clerk II (S) – Position – NC03
OverviewPara‑professional level accounting work in an agency or institution. Responsible for providing accurate accounts payable and disbursement processing services for General Accounting invoices.
Key Responsibilities- Process invoices for payment using the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) and Share Point.
- Monitor Purchase Orders for available funds and POs needing to be closed.
- Work closely with co‑workers and vendors to resolve invoice issues.
- Collaborate with the DOA Fiscal department on payment issues.
- Provide phone and desk coverage for the front‑desk lobby area once a week or as necessary.
- Provide back‑up coverage for Work Control as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of office procedures, methods, and practices.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills; strong grammar and vocabulary.
- Familiarity with accounting procedures, mathematics, and their application.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Valid NC Driver’s License; out‑of‑state applicants must obtain NC driver’s license within 60 days.
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CompensationSalary range: $31,200 – $43,193.
