Join our team as an Accounting Technician and play a critical role in supporting the operations of a world-class university. In this position, you will manage key aspects of the accounts payable process for the Facilities Division, which oversees an annual budget of more than $148 million and supports the infrastructure and services that keep campus running.
As an Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining compliance with State of North Carolina regulations, UNC System policies, and university procedures. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help ensure strong financial stewardship, audit readiness, and exceptional customer service for both campus partners and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end accounts payable process for a Facilities budget exceeding $148 million.
- Verify invoices, assign appropriate account numbers, and determine funding sources for trade shop supplies, utilities, contracted repairs, and equipment leases.
- Encumber payment authorizations online via the NCSU Financial Accounting System and process annual accruals for university accounting.
- Review and process travel requests, credit memos, small purchase invoices, and interdepartmental transfers (IDTs).
- Reconcile financial data between the University’s Asset Management and Financial systems to ensure accuracy before payment.
