Job SummaryThe State HRIS/Payroll Analyst I (S) is a temporary position responsible for payroll processing, tax reporting, and financial reconciliation within the BEST Shared Services payroll division.
Responsibilities- Process employee garnishments/releases and federal tax withholding mandates.
- Reconcile payroll medical premium deductions and payments to the State Health Plan.
- Reconcile State Retirement Plan deductions and payments.
- Administer over payment claims processing and repayments.
- Post results to the financial systems.
- Process third‑party vendor payments.
- Manage escheats.
- Complete federal and multi‑state tax reporting.
- Ensure proper financial reporting.
- Process third‑party payroll amounts due to vendors via ACH transactions and paper checks.
- Process payment reversals, deletions, and ACH returns.
- Research and respond to vendor and agency inquiries regarding payments and payroll deductions.
- Maintain related accounting records per standard procedures, policies, and retention schedules.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, computer science, or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution.
- One year of experience in business or HR/Payroll consultation, process improvement, or requirement gathering in an information technology, payroll, or HRIS environment.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hourly Rate: $30.00 per hour.
