Description of WorkAccounting Technician II positions are responsible for accurately performing accounting work involving the maintenance and reporting of financial accounting data. Under the general supervision of a higher-level Accounting Technician or an Accountant, these positions review and process documents such as expense vouchers, invoices, and purchase orders, and handle billing, receipts, deposits, expenditures, reconciliation of financial statements, ledger posting, balancing, control, and preparation of financial reports.
Responsibilities- Accurately perform accounting work and maintain financial records.
- Review and process expense vouchers, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Handle billing, receipts, deposits, and expenditures.
- Reconcile financial statements and perform ledger posting and balancing.
- Prepare financial reports for the department or division.
- Maintain accounts and general fiscal records for small or general fund activities.
- Manage detailed subsidiary ledgers for major divisions or a moderate-size accounting unit.
- Minimum
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience, or high school diploma/GED and three years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Preferred
Skills:
Documented knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and practices; experience using Microsoft Excel; experience using Microsoft Word.
