Position Number: , Grade: NC02.
Description of WorkThis position is responsible for managing the Trust Fund Office and assisting with the financial operations of the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women. The position performs technical accounting, bookkeeping, and financial recordkeeping functions related to offender trust accounts, staff deposits, offender service club accounts, and work release payroll.
Responsibilities- Analyze data for accuracy, solve problems, and interpret regulations.
- Complete various tasks affecting the fiscal and financial operations of the work unit or involvement in the budget process.
- Perform accounting functions through IBS, NCFS, and E‑Procurement such as accounts receivable and payable, purchasing, and P‑Card reconciliation.
- Order and receive supplies and equipment in E‑Procurement, maintain logs, complete the direct processing form (CNTR
005), and maintain vendor contracts and backups as P‑Card reconciler. - Review open PO Report; run and review budget reports, budget transfers, journal vouchers, and PO change forms.
- Assist facility staff and vendors regarding purchase orders and P‑Card purchases; verify checks, process and track direct processing form (CNTR
005) payments and monitor usage orders. - Communicate well and work effectively with staff at all levels.
- Maintain an organized filing system.
- Resolve fiscal issues.
Minimum education and experience:
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) and Management Preferences are not required. Preferred skills include:
- Documented knowledge of general accounting practices.
- Documented working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
