Description
Overview:
This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. We are seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented senior accountant with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required.
- Provide accounting support for regional operations.
- Heavily involved in the month‑end close process.
- Preparation and maintenance of monthly accruals across multiple plant operations.
- Work with plant personnel to ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Work closely with regional management on analysis of operating results.
- Prepare timely and accurate management reporting.
- Reconciliation of balance accounts.
- Perform standard and ad‑hoc analysis.
- Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.
- Provide support related to internal and external audit requests.
- Acquire a strong knowledge of the business.
- Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or relevant accounting experience; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/Masters degree.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Must be a self‑starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management ability.
- Demonstrated ability to roll‑up sleeves and work with team members in a hands‑on capacity.
- Manufacturing or construction and inventory accounting experience a plus.
- Ability to travel on occasion (5%).
