Manager- Accounting Advisory

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee progress of entire engagement in the preparation of financial statements and consolidation of trial balances.
• Research complex technical accounting topics, identify relevant guidance, and corresponding SEC rules and regulations.
• Begin to write basic technical accounting memos.
• Knowledge sharing with staff and seniors to develop more in-depth knowledge of preparation and review of financial statements and consolidation of trial balances.
• Establish an in-depth understanding of how to assess the accuracy of complex financial statement areas such as SOCF, Equity, and EPS and identify disclosures that are inaccurate or incomplete.
• Identify more complex scope problems that may arise within the engagement, as well as opportunities for ancillary service offerings, and bring them to the attention of the engagement director.
• Lead all client calls, manage project status with managers and staff, develop project plans, and ensure accurate completion of deliverables.
• Responsible for understanding engagement economics, leveraging the team appropriately, monitoring margin, scheduling, invoicing, etc.
• Build in‑person connections with the team, peers, and senior leaders in the firm.
• Participate in the performance process to provide feedback for team members, identify additional training or engagement parts beneficial for team members’ education, and reach out to Human Resources when potential issues arise.
• Continue coaching the team to share knowledge in connection with the CPE committee and develop team members for the next level.
• Support firm initiatives and development opportunities.
• Work to build relationships and promote collaboration in a hybrid environment.

• Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Above‑average written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand the services offered by the firm, look for opportunities to represent the firm, grow the client base, and increase brand recognition.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
• Close to obtaining CPA certification.
• 7+ years of relative accounting experience; at least 1 year in public accounting or professional services highly preferred.
