Operational Audit Manager

NC State University is hiring an Operational Audit Manager. This role leads complex operational audits, advisory engagements, and special projects to strengthen governance, improve business processes, and enhance risk management across the university. The manager partners with university leaders, directs audit teams, and drives audit innovation to support strategic goals and improve organizational effectiveness.

• Lead complex operational audits, consulting engagements, and special projects from planning through reporting.
• Evaluate business processes, internal controls, and organizational risks, providing practical recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships with university leadership to understand priorities and operational challenges.
• Coach and mentor audit staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and expand the use of data analytics and technology.
• Apply professional auditing standards to assess risks and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Requires graduation from a four‑year college and professional certification (CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA) or five years of relevant audit or consulting experience.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in university or public sector operations and familiarity with audit management software and data analytics tools such as Power BI.
