The Fund Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely calculation of the Net Asset Value (NAV) for funds administered by Nottingham. Fund accountants work both individually and in a team structure handling investment portfolio accounting, acting as liaison with clients, interacting with outside auditors, custodians, clearing brokers, and internal constituents.

Essential functions:
  • Daily accounting functions for assigned funds to include reconciliation of custody account and transaction activity, calculating and delivering net asset values for various investment products, with largest part of client base being ETFs and other registered investment companies
  • Daily trading, general ledger activity and application of market prices
  • Record dividends, interest, and expense accruals
  • Monitor corporate action notifications
  • Records and reconciles daily capital stock activity
  • Ensures all fund transactions are properly posted to accounting system
  • Applies accounting and finance principals to numerous asset types
  • Respond to questions from each Fund's investment advisor and various internal constituents
  • Reconcile fund records to custodian, transfer agent, and securities pricing database on a daily basis
  • Monthly reconciliations and periodic auditor requests
  • Assist with the preparation of board reports of investment activity quarterly
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements semi-annually
Education / Skills / Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred, comparable experience in previous position also considered as an equal qualification
  • 0-8 years’ experience in fund accounting
  • ETF experience is a major plus
  • Ability and interest in learning and expanding knowledge a major plus
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities
  • Microsoft Office environment, especially Excel
  • Attitude and team approach
