University Data and Analytics (UDA) is NC State’s institutional research office and the responsible unit for university-level data and analytics. UDA drives effective institutional planning, management, and accountability by empowering leaders and decision makers with the accurate, timely, and actionable information needed to advance the university’s mission; maximizing the value and availability of institutional data resources for the broader NC State community;

and providing NC State’s stakeholders, partners, and external organizations with official university data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex and fast‑paced executive calendar, ensuring strategic alignment of priorities.
  • Draft and manage executive correspondence in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Serve as liaison between the Vice Provost, direct reports, university leadership, and external partners.
  • Research, synthesize, and prepare briefing materials, reports, presentations, and travel documentation.
  • Coordinate and support committees chaired by the Vice Provost, including scheduling, agenda development, materials preparation, minute‑taking, and tracking action items.
  • Support UDA administration as directed, including budget, financial, and HR processes.
  • Interpret and apply NC State and UNC System policies with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Anticipate challenges, identify solutions, and proactively support executive decision‑making.
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor, Provost, and other administrative units.
UDA Unit Support
  • Partner with the UDA leadership team on strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Coordinate UDA events and programs, including research, planning, communications, and on‑site support.
  • Maintain and update the unit’s website to ensure accurate and timely content.
  • Provide administrative coordination for leadership team committees, including scheduling, documentation, and follow‑up.
Office Management
  • Oversee daily office operations, including purchasing, equipment and supply management, and contract record‑keeping.
  • Manage and reconcile travel in compliance with university policies.
  • Serve as facilities liaison for space planning, maintenance, furniture, and equipment needs.
  • Partner with Business and HR operations to support reporting, budgeting, and personnel processes.
Other Responsibilities
  • Participate in coverage for the Provost’s Office front desk as needed for as long as the Vice Provost’s office remains in Holladay Hall.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline and one year of experience; or a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must come from accredited institutions.
