The Mail Clerk is responsible for managing the full scope of mail operations and courier services across the airport campus, ensuring seamless and timely processing of incoming and outgoing mail. This role also provides administrative support, including backup front desk duties and assisting in the coordination and setup of conference rooms. The ideal candidate will operate independently, delivering excellent service to internal stakeholders while maintaining an organized, efficient mailroom environment.
Compensation- Maximum – Based on experience
- Minimum – $20.21 an hour
- Retrieves incoming mail from the US Post Office; sorts and delivers incoming mail throughout the airport.
- Collects, meters, and stamps outgoing mail, ensuring accurate postage. Presorts, bundles, and labels mail.
- Makes mail classification decisions and processes overnight mail via UPS and Fed Ex, ensuring timely and proper classification of mail and packages.
- Advises Authority employees as to the most efficient and economical methods of mailing postal materials.
- Drive company vehicle to perform courier duties, including interoffice mail and supply pick‑up and delivery across airport departments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance schedule of designated Authority vehicles in line with organizational policies.
- Delivers paper and other office supplies to copy rooms as needed.
- Monitors conference room calendars and coordinates with meeting hosts to set up conference rooms for events and meetings.
- Conducts set up and take down of tables and chairs in conference rooms.
- Performs routine inspections of meeting room furniture and submits maintenance work orders as needed.
- Serve as a backup to the Administrative Coordinator, providing front desk coverage, managing phone calls, and assisting visitors when needed.
- Performs additional related work as required.
- High School diploma or equivalency
- 1 year of experience in related shipping/receiving, clerical, or general office work.
- 5 years of experience driving and at least 1 year without traffic accidents or tickets.
- Valid NC Driver’s License
