Title: Temporary Donor Services Specialist at NC State
Location: Raleigh, NC
Work Hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This temporary role (up to 11 months) supports the Donor Services team in managing gift agreements, naming opportunities, and related administrative processes. The specialist will ensure accurate, consistent donor documentation and provide general support to facilitate daily operations.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and gather information related to gift agreements.
- Draft, edit, and refine documents, memos, correspondence, and proposals.
- Draft, review, and approve gift agreements to ensure accuracy and alignment with university standards.
- Assist in reviewing gifts and gift agreements for compliance with IRS regulations, CASE standards, university policies, best practices, and Advancement operational guidelines.
- Coordinate the review process with campus partners.
- Develop talking points and briefing materials for front‑line fundraisers.
- Track and coordinate all processes related to gift agreements to ensure timely completion.
- Provide support in researching gift agreements, endowment histories, and related records.
- Conduct general research in support of Donor Services initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operations of Donor Services.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, strong writing/communication skills, and a collaborative spirit.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

- Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax.
- Ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally for various audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Skilled in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
- Experience with project tracking tools such as Smartsheet.
- Comfortable learning and adapting quickly to new software platforms.
- Strong aptitude for using technology to improve workflows and solve problems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.
- Experience with database systems and process tracking.
- Ability to interpret and utilize maps effectively.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects independently.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent customer service and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience working with confidential information in a professional setting.
- Preferred Experience: One or more years in higher education, nonprofit organizations, grant writing, legal writing, donor relations, stewardship, gift agreement writing, or fundraising.
