Location:
Craven Correctional Institution, Vanceboro, NC.
This position is located at Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro, NC. The prison is a Medium Custody Adult Male Felon Diagnostic Processing Center which houses 850 offenders. Employees in this class provide clerical support to the Diagnostic Center of the institution.
Responsibilities- Typing, answering telephone, transcription of dictation, making copies, etc.
- Support Diagnostic Staff which includes Case Analysts, Senior Case Analysts and Diagnostic Center Director.
- May also be utilized for certification in running criminal background records or processing offenders.
- Proficiently use computers, dictation equipment, copy machines, fax machines, telephones and other standard office equipment.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Word and be able to type at least 50 WPM.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work under sometimes stressful conditions resulting from time constraints and expected deadlines.
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Documented knowledge of human resource, personnel functions.
- Documented experience using Microsoft Office and/or any related software.
- Documented experience carrying out both oral and written instructions.
- Proficient in use of office equipment and computer software.
- Typing at least 50 WPM in Microsoft Word.
$31,200 - $51,249.
