The North Carolina Department of Revenue is accepting applications for an Administrative Associate II to work in the Central Examination Division. This position assists and supports the work of the Assistant Director, managers, supervisors, and fellow employees assigned to this unit. The Administrative Associate II performs a full array of administrative duties that are necessary to facilitate a broad range of communication efforts internally, and to serve as a conduit for the orderly flow of work within the Central Examination Division.

The Administrative Associate ensures operations are conducted in the most effective, efficient, and professional manner possible in order to attain the highest degree of compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collect, enter and maintain data in various databases
  • Generate reports
  • Accumulate files and maintains a variety of records and reports
  • Provide support and preventive maintenance for office equipment and other activities as needed
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing mail
Knowledge

Skills and Abilities

/Management Preferences
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral
  • Demonstrated experience with basic data entry
  • Demonstrated experience using basic spreadsheet, word processing, database software, and email
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and resources in a busy office environment

Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $51,249 Effective July 1, 2025

This position is subject to federal and state criminal background checks that may include fingerprinting and verification of tax compliance.

"Tax compliance" is defined as having filed and paid all North Carolina State taxes owed each year leading up to the current calendar year or currently in a non-delinquent payment status with the State of North Carolina on taxes that are currently owed to the state.
