NC State University is hiring a Research Operations Coordinator. This role manages administrative, financial, and operational activities for a major research group, supporting faculty and research staff. The coordinator handles research administration tasks including budget oversight, proposal support, sponsor reporting, procurement, facility management, event planning, and travel logistics while liaising with university and external partners.

Highlights
  • Manage multi-million-dollar grant portfolios, including post-award financial oversight and pre-award proposal support.
  • Process financial transactions such as vouchers, journal vouchers, inter-departmental transfers, and travel reimbursements using university systems.
  • Lead specialized laboratory procurement and act as liaison for facilities management and building operations.
  • Coordinate external partner engagement, research commercialization efforts, and event planning including academic seminars and sponsor visits.
  • Develop and maintain communications materials, research websites, and promotional content for research achievements.
  • Plan complex travel arrangements for faculty, postdocs, students, and visiting scholars ensuring all approvals and documentation.
  • Maintain electronic records, manage daily calendars, and assist with onboarding research staff and students.
  • Expertise in research administration systems and processes, including RED, Research.gov, eRA Commons, People Soft Financials, Marketplace, and P-Card reconciliation.
  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and 2-3 years of experience in research administration or academic program management.
  • Compensation ranges from $65,000 to $73,525 depending on education and experience.
