Overview
Azurity Pharmaceuticals is a privately held, specialty pharmaceutical company that focuses on innovative products for underserved patients. The Manager, Business Development and Licensing will support Corporate Development’s strategic initiative to accelerate growth in North America. Responsibilities include managing internal processes, coordinating due diligence between Azurity stakeholders and external partners, and identifying licensing opportunities. This role involves partner identification, opportunity evaluation, due diligence, financial modeling, and closing activities.
Responsibilities- Source new licensing opportunities that align with Azurity’s portfolio by expanding alliances, attending scientific and partnering conferences, and networking with specialty pharma, biotech, and venture capitalists.
- Develop a network of commercialization companies for potential divestiture of Azurity products as part of sunset strategies.
- Process RFPs and develop quantitative and qualitative assessments from proposals.
- Provide financially supported recommendations for BD&L activity.
- Mine publicly available information and market intelligence to maintain an informed view of competitive opportunities for Azurity.
- Liaise with other departments, business units, and partners professionally and efficiently.
- Travel as needed for due diligence and to build coalitions of support for deals.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in business development, licensing, banking, portfolio, marketing, sales, technical disciplines, pharmacy, or IP.
- Good understanding of regulatory processes and the commercial environment within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry across ex-US territories.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Fluent with product analytics tools (e.g., IQVIA, Global Data).
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Must be able to sit for long periods; reasonable accommodations may be made.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; frequent standing, walking, and articulation of speech; use of keyboard and devices.
