LNG Business Development Lead
The LNG Business Development Lead is responsible for leadership and oversight of HDR’s LNG Service Line’s business strategy, client development, financial performance and project delivery.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement the strategy for continued profitable sustainable growth of HDR’s LNG Service Line.
- Position HDR to win work with clients including Gas Utilities, Developers, Midstream companies and Major Oil & Gas companies.
- Provide technical oversight and leadership of project delivery in the LNG Service Line.
- Recruit, retain, mentor and train key personnel required to develop and deliver LNG Service Line projects and build client relationships.
- Identify HDR’s service offerings that can be leveraged into the LNG market.
- Work with Business Group and Operational leadership on HDR’s Annual Planning and Budgeting process for the LNG Service Line.
- Manage projects and/or provide subject‑matter expertise for LNG projects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as client manager for key clients.
- Monitor new market trends and participate in development and implementation of local and regional strategic and tactical planning.
- Facilitate major pursuit proposal reviews, client feedback, problem resolution, recognition activities, and client development within the Service Line.
- Represent HDR in business and community activities.
- Minimum 10 years LNG project management experience.
- Deep understanding of the LNG market, including Small/Midscale LNG.
- In‑depth knowledge of LNG facilities and operations.
- Strong relationships with LNG facility owners/operators or developers.
- Extensive network of LNG engineering professionals for recruitment.
- Excellent communication skills; self‑motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work independently and in team.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- PMP Certification.
- Previous staff supervision experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse teams across regions, departments, and project staff.
- Strong understanding of identification, management, and mitigation of project and owner/operator risk.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.
- Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self‑starter.
- Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services.
- Strong ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Successful track record of building a network of clients and industry partners.
- Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.
- Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness and ability to travel and engage with clients in person.
- Track record of growing programs in new or highly competitive markets.
- Experience winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
- Ability to produce compelling written content based on technical information.

Salary Range: $180,000 – $260,000 (based on skills, experience, education and location).
