The Executive Director, Market Intelligence is accountable for establishing and leading the global market intelligence agenda for Merz Aesthetics, integrating competitive intelligence, consumer and HCP insights, market research, forecasting, global pricing guidance, and external market trend interpretation into the Global Marketing strategy. The role serves as an organization-wide expert and strategic advisor to the Chief Marketing Officer, Global Marketing, regional commercial leadership, and the Global Leadership Team by translating complex internal and external market signals into actionable strategic recommendations that guide long-term business direction, portfolio decisions, launch readiness, pricing governance, and performance management.
The Executive Director is expected to anticipate market, competitive, customer, regulatory, and financial dynamics that may materially affect the business and to guide senior stakeholders through ambiguity, trade-offs, and enterprise-level decision points. The role delivers broad, sustainable business impact by shaping functional strategy, and enabling major strategic choices.
- Establish and lead the global competitive intelligence strategy, including governance, standards, analytical frameworks, and executive-ready interpretation of competitor financial performance, product development activity, launches, commercial strategy, pricing behavior, market access developments, customer dynamics, and other external signals that may affect enterprise strategy.
- Translate competitive developments into strategic scenarios, implications, and recommended actions for the Chief Marketing Officer, Global Marketing, regional commercial leadership, and the Global Leadership Team.
- Own quarterly and ad hoc competitive briefings that identify material risks, opportunities, and choices requiring executive alignment.
- Strategic Preparation:
- Own and institutionalize global strategic preparedness processes, including cross-functional war-gaming, scenario planning, launch threat assessment, and response planning for material competitive, market, portfolio, and customer shifts. Lead senior cross-functional teams across regions, Medical Affairs, R&D, Innovation, Finance, and Marketing to evaluate strategic alternatives, quantify business implications, and recommend enterprise-level response options.
- Build repeatable planning frameworks that strengthen organizational readiness for competitive launches, market disruptions, new evidence, pricing pressure, regulatory developments, and changes in customer or HCP behavior. Ensure outputs are incorporated into business planning, brand strategy, portfolio decisions, launch readiness, and executive decision forums.
- Market Research:
- Set the global market research and insight strategy, including standards for ATU, brand health tracking, customer and HCP insight generation, market sizing, market share analysis, sales force sizing inputs, and strategic research design across key global markets.
- Serve as the senior enterprise advisor for market research quality, methodology, prioritization, and interpretation.
- Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into strategic recommendations that inform global and regional brand strategy, portfolio prioritization, innovation choices, commercial investment, launch planning, and long-range business planning. Ensure that market research outputs are comparable, actionable, and consistently applied across regions and functions.
- Business KPI Tracking:
- Design and own the global commercial performance intelligence framework, including KPI architecture, executive reporting standards, data interpretation principles, and governance for business performance tracking across global and regional stakeholders.
