Associate Vice Chancellor, Research Commercialization

NC State University is hiring an Associate Vice Chancellor, Research Commercialization. The Associate Vice Chancellor sets commercialization strategy, ensures compliance, leads funding programs like the Wolfpack Investor Network and NSF I-Corps Mid-Atlantic Hub, and builds partnerships to advance innovation and economic impact.

• Lead NC State's research commercialization strategy and align innovation priorities with institutional goals.
• Provide executive oversight for intellectual property management and commercialization governance.
• Direct venture development initiatives, including startup formation, market validation, and investment opportunities.
• Oversee programs such as the Wolfpack Investor Network (WIN), commercialization funding, and NSF I-Corps Mid-Atlantic Hub.
• Build strategic partnerships with industry, investors, and innovation organizations regionally and nationally.
• Manage a multidisciplinary commercialization team focused on innovation and operational excellence.
• Requires a relevant post-baccalaureate degree with 3+ years of related experience or a relevant bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Extensive leadership experience in research administration or related areas in complex research institutions.
• Experience negotiating complex research agreements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Preferred qualifications include executive leadership in an R1 research institution and a terminal degree (PhD, JD, or equivalent).
